LeClear Collection
In 2022, the Historical Society of Greater Lansing received a major collection of Lansing photographic history from the LeClear family. The LeClear photo studio and later camera shop operated in Lansing for nearly a century, from 1895 through about 1990. The studio took nearly every high school graduation portrait in the mid-twentieth century, shot important events, dignitary visits, parades, and so much more. This collection documents Lansing through the LeClear lens, but also documents the LeClear family and the individuals behind the camera.
