Rise & Progress: Exhibiting a Capitol Collection

  • Michigan State Capitol Heritage Hall 320 W Ottawa St Lansing, MI, 48933 United States (map)

You’re invited to join our friends at the Michigan State Capitol again for their monthly Rise & Progress: Stories from the Michigan State Capitol series. This October’s program, “Exhibiting a Capitol Collection,” will cover the development of the new exhibits in Heritage Hall by Capitol Historian and Curator Valerie Marvin, Capitol Registrar Brian Page, and Capitol Photo Archivist Jacob McCormick. The in-person tour will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.

The Michigan State Capitol is home to a large collection of historical artifacts, photographs, books, and archival materials. With the recent opening of Heritage Hall, the Capitol staff has the opportunity to share more of the collection with visitors than ever before! The tour will include an in depth tour of the new Heritage Hall Exhibit Ramp with behind the scenes stories on the development of the exhibits and the artifacts on display.

No RSVP needed. Tour starts at the Heritage Hall entrance on Ottawa Street, on the north side of Capitol Square. The Michigan State Capitol will also offer a virtual version of this tour on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. To attend the virtual tour, please RSVP to capitoltourguides@legislature.mi.gov.
