Announcing the all-new LansingHistory.org!

The Historical Society of Greater Lansing is proud to publish and announce the new look and feel of LansingHistory.org. We recognize this has been a long time coming and are just as excited as you!

LansingHistory.org launched originally around 2007 and was revamped in 2014 as a blog-style site with new entries for each new event or news update on the society’s happenings. Overtime we added PayPal access to membership dues, a photo gallery, our newsletter archive, and other features. However, over the last several years the site sat dormant.

It was our goal to bring an all new modern website to bring the HSGL into the 21st century. This new site will allow us to offer all the same features as the old site and so much more! Check out our new About section, which highlights our more than 70 year history, the Learn section helps you identify local history publications and explore an array of topics we have addressed in the past on tours, exhibits, and programs.

Special thanks goes to longtime HSGL member and supporter Timothy Bowman for providing images and digitized content to include on this new website. Timothy’s photographs illustrate many of these pages and his research on many topics have been featured throughout, with surely more to come.

We hope you will enjoy exploring Lansing history through this new format! Please join us on social media if you have not already, and it will be a pleasure to meet you at the next HSGL event!
